Empty Calories
I have resolved to write today. Therefore I give you:
A Personal Favorite.
If you haven't read the "Blogging the Bible" thing on Slate (do I have to get the URL?...all right), you (the presumptive reader) might like it. It's really interesting to see what Mr. Plotz makes of it all; of course, as a Mormon I find his Reform Jewish (or is it Conservative?) viewpoint highly wrong-headed routinely, but that's really the point, isn't it? What do modern people make of the Bible, anyway? (For purposes of this discussion, as in so many other things, I can't really consider myself modern.) His take on Genesis was particularly interesting, but that's probably because Genesis offers the best material; story-wise it's probably the strongest book of the Bible.
